When I returned to the States after my "odd year out" I studied international affairs at American University
in Washington and lived at the International Student House on R Street, in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
Here I made many friends and eventually also worked as a staff member.

Children, your Dad is one of those "Internationalists" so dreaded by the second President Bush. I believe we
are one world and one people irrespective of color, creed and so on. See the world if you can. I love the United States but
I believe we should all know more about other countries and cultures.
